Pension Boards members age 70½ or over and who are not working for a United Church of Christ employer, Conference, Association or National Staff, are required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) from the Annuity Plan for the current year.
If you turned 70½ years old in the current year, you may elect to have the distribution deferred until no later than April 1 of the following year.
If you are eligible to receive an RMD, a letter will be sent to you mid-September reflecting your RMD amount. Please note that all RMDs are subject to a 10% Federal income tax withholding. If you wish to change the tax withholding percentages on your distribution, or need to update your working status, please contact Member Services at 1.800.642.6543 no later than October 4, 2019.
A letter notification along with your RMD check will arrive in your mailbox early November 2019.
