REYES APPOINTED TO LEAD THE ORGANIZATION’S DIGITAL FIRST STRATEGY BRINGING PEOPLE AND CULTURE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND MARKETING AND SALES FUNCTIONS TOGETHER TO BUILD A NEW SHARED SERVICES CENTER.

AUGUST 8, 2022

New York (August 8, 2022) – Brian R. Bodager, President and CEO of the Pension Boards-United Church of Christ (PBUCC), today announced that Walter Reyes, Chief Human Resources Officer with more than 20 years’ experience in Talent Management and Leadership across several industries, was named Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, effective August 1, 2022. In this role, Reyes will oversee a new Shared Services unit that integrates Human Resources, Facilities and Security, and intercompany services such as Communications, Marketing and Sales, and Information Technology solutions to drive a digital-first strategy for PBUCC.

“Walter has been a change agent for the Pension Boards since day one,” said Bodager. “He has been instrumental in helping build our brand and positioning the Pension Boards as an employer of choice in the financial services industry.”

Reyes joined the Pension Boards in 2018 as Director of Human Resources, becoming Chief Human Resources Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership Team later that year. In his time at the Pension Boards, he has introduced talent management and development programs to recruit and retain top talent at all levels, and launched a successful Summer Internship Program for high-performing college and graduate students. Following the pandemic shutdown in 2020, he ensured that colleagues’ health and safety remained the top priority for the organization by establishing protocols for working remotely as well as for returning to the office. The systems put in place during the pandemic became the basis for creating a more flexible hybrid work model.

Reyes also has led the organization-wide effort to transform the Pension Boards’ corporate culture through ongoing anti-racism and justice programs for the staff and Board, as well as through community outreach and direct engagement initiatives. In 2021, he led the development of the Pension Boards’ inaugural Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Report, which recognizes PBUCC’s commitment to strengthen its organizational culture as one that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, as that fosters a sense of belonging among colleagues.

A Long Island, New York native, Reyes holds BBA and MBA degrees from Hofstra University.

“It is an honor and privilege to serve as the EVP, CAO,” said Reyes. “The Pension Boards is an amazing organization that values collaboration to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Over the past three years we have accomplished a lot, and I am excited to work to harmonize the capabilities, diverse talents of Human Resources, Information Technology, and other enablement functions to build out a Shared Services center.”
